Designed in association with David Haertsch, this house on the beach front has extensive views eastwards over the bay and ocean. It is a substantial alteration and addition, which remakes the top floor within the existing footprint.  The primary space is the beach side room containing the kitchen, dining and living rooms. They are organized from south to north with a lower kitchen volume overlooking the higher living room space. This higher living space has a clerestory window, providing prospect to the northern ridge and aspect for the winter sun.  The spaces are linked on the east by a long low verandah eave, which frames the horizon view and filters out hot summer sun.

The house has a simple material palette of masonry base rendered in off white cement and painted weatherboards above. All bedrooms have external timber shutters.
