Situated in a quiet street, on a deep block, the back of this holiday house opens up to a verdant lagoon. It has two parts: an existing two-level brick-veneer house that has been altered and a new timber pavilion stretching along the southern side of the rear yard. A central entry and staircase space connect the two parts, opening up to a new garden strip that extends westwards towards the lagoon. The new garden strip runs parallel to the northern edge of the new pavilion building. The pavilion, opening up to the north, has an intimate foreground of light and shade with a view to the ridge beyond.
