This is a small block of ten new one-bedroom apartments that complete a courtyard to an existing block of four apartments that have been refurbished. Due to the narrowness and length of the site, the new building is split into two by the central stairway, which, but for the roof and timber screen, is open to the elements. Three typical floor plans provide a range of dwellings within the buildings. Brick is used for it’s contextual quality and low maintenance.
