The Legs 11 is a steel frame sculpture 5m x 4,5m made of reflective montaged road signs. It was designed for Taylor Square, which at the time, was the number one national pedestrian death spot. The scale of the sculpture relates to both passing motorists and pedestrians.

Legs

At night its reflective cladding was lit up by the headlights of cars driving up Bourke Street. Acting as a sign or beacon it broadcast to the through traffic that this was “largely” a place for pedestrians. The passing flicker of car lights on and off the sign animates the sign and is reflective of the activity in the area.
