Year 10 Work Experience

This week MWA hosted two Year 10 work experience students. Both students have a keen interest in architectural drawing, and were tasked with modelling 1:50 apartments of our Cabramatta Seniors Housing, which has entered the documentation stage of the design process.

The two students modelled symmetrical units on the upper floor of the building, with Lucas modelling the east-facing unit, and Eliza modelling the west-facing unit.

Eliza and Lucas worked diligently on their models across three days, using a limited palette of materials, and at the end of the week photographed it to examine how the sunlight interacts with the living spaces, bedrooms and hallways.

This modelling exercise was a chance to explore how furniture can be positioned in the space, and the opportunities for perspectives to the exterior from the living spaces.
