Peace Park is a small urban corner park on a busy street corner. The project comprises a hard paved square and a soft grassy square that follows the footprint of the adjacent shops and backyards. A colonnade and an awning define the main King Street address.
The minor street is defined by a double row of trees. Special details such as the RTA reflectors embedded in the columns and the patterned paving engage Peace Park with its surroundings and create its special and particular character.

“This clearly local space has a strong sense of community relevance. Despite being low cost, the straightforward design and detailing already support plenty of use and in the view of the jury is a real gem demonstrating how positive results can be generated by meagre means.”
