Parramatta Escarpment Boardwalk

This project completes a crucial missing link to enable continuous pedestrian and cycle access from Western Sydney University at Rydalmere, through the city centre to Parramatta Park. The project is ambitious infrastructure that amplifies and builds on the city’s refocus on it’s historic river frontage.

The last link of the landscaped based project carries the path dramatically out over the river, in a curve and counter curve that forms a memorable arrival to the city centre, adjacent to the river-cats wharf from Circular Quay. Much of the rest of the project creates episodic moments through the changing river edge landscape, including mangroves, grasses and a constantly shifting urban interface.
