Social Housing Architecture
MWA has an abiding interest and passion for the design of Social and Affordable Housing. Clients include both Government authorities and private providers. The award winning St Marys Housing for LAHC, the result of a winning proposal in an invited competition was recently selected by GANSW as one of 2 Social Housing Benchmark projects. MWA are currently working with LAHC on 3 more multi-res Social housing projects, including the Mays Hill project, and 3 projects for Homes Victoria. Another recent approval is our Salvation Army Housing Project, which includes 50 apartments and studios for homeless men, designed in association with our long term collaborators Hill Thalis A+U. Each social and affordable housing project presents the opportunity to untangle the constraints of regulation and budget to produce projects that contribute to an improved streetscape, while maximising amenity for each resident.
